This is a rare collection just for you. It was originally recorded in 1965 with Shelly Manne on drums, and John Williams directing the music of Gershwin. Shelly Manne was a phenomenal drummer who pioneered jazz drumming and rhythms. Manne died unexpectedly in 1984. Steve Houghton is one of the top jazz drummers today and he got the idea to re-do this collection. He pulled his ensemble, Steve Houghton Quintet, and the University of North Texas Two O'Clock Lab Band together and recorded this album in Manne's memory. It is beautiful music that you are sure to enjoy. You may even have a tear or two fall. The total running time of this CD is fifty-seven minutes.
